Jet Lignite

Jack and the rest of the Gems enter the temple and head to the door inside.

"I still can't believe I have to tell you all so soon," Jack presses against the open space in between his, Pearl's and Amethyst's stones. He turns the stones till the three black stones face up and glows. A sun-shaped hole shows up at the center and Sunstone presses her mace inside the hole. Jack press his finger against the mace then makes a black bolt appear with his power. The bolt flashes black and white as a white diamond outline appears on the door as it opens.

Garnet places a hand on Jack's shoulder, "You know you don't have to."

"Garnet, you always gave wise words to the one who helped you find balance and harmony within yourself," Jack places a hand on her's, "But you and I both know that this is unavoidable and that everyone has the right to know."

"And I can't wait to watch as everyone hates you," Nightshade pushes Jack inside. Everyone follows behind as they all enter a courtyard with vines wrapped around stone columns.

"Jack, it's the Lightning Gems!!" Steven gasps as he goes star-eyed and everyone looks at three statues of Jet, Tigron and Dragona.

Jack kneels down with one knee up and his left fist on the ground, "Predecessors of the B.O.L.T, the Children of Lightning have returned. I thank you all for bringing all my friends together so that I may rekindle the bond we have."

Sunstone kneels the same way as a light glows under her right sleeve near her shoulder, "I thank you all for reuniting me with my mentor and brother, Jack."

Emerald kneels the same way as a light glows below his neck, "I thank you all for allowing me to repair a broken friendship with Ruby."

Wolframite kneels the same way as a light glows around his gem, "I thank you all for protecting me all these years."

Zultanite kneels the same and two lights shine through her cuffs, "I thank you all as Red Diamond and Moonstone to allow them to exist as a myself." The statues' eyes flashes and sweeps across the kneeling Gems. After the scan, six metal pillars stood in front of the Gems.

"Peri, do you know what these things are?" Amethyst asks.

Peridot activates her screen and looks, "Hmm, there's nothing I can tell from the Homeworld files that came with me, but I can defiantly tell it's made of Gem technology."

"Half human tech and half gem tech," Jack says as he places his hands out, "I was able to find some Gem tech and combined it with that of a human."

"That still doesn't explain this place," Jade scratches her head in confusion. Jack spins his right arm in the air and moves his hands out as five pillars spread out and the courtyard shows Jet's emblem from his armor on the floor.

Pearl looks at the emblem and touches it, "Jack, how did you find B.O.L.T. Sanctuary?!"

"B.O.L.T. Sanctuary?" Hiddenite repeats.

Jack guided the last pillar in front of him and turns to a Gem control panel as it takes shape of a hand with a bolt at the center of the stone palm, "The Sanctuary is the training grounds for the Lightning Gems during the war. They trained, lived, and even played here together."

"Amazing," Turquoise looks around, "This looks like a nice place."

"I'm going to show you everything about me, but I'll tell you this now. No matter how bad these memories are, there's nothing we can do to change them," Jack hovers his left hand over the bolt symbol and motions everyone to come close as the all did, "Are you all ready?" Everyone nods as he places his hands on the symbol as the panel lights up white. Jack waves her hand over his eyes as a black light flashes on his face.

"Jack, what just happened to your face?" Delilah asks. Jack looks at everyone as the panel shortens from the bottom and turns into a stone slab in the same shape and mirror sunglasses appeared on his eyes. The lens color was majority black and white and split like Garnet's glasses that was shaped like fangs.

"Nice shades," Garnet smiles and gives a thumbs-up.

"Thanks," Jack replies, "I'll be using these to indicate which memories are good or bad. Black is bad and white is good, and whichever color takes up most space of my shades, that determines whichever one it is. When it's mostly black, they become my Shades of Chaos. I can use it to reflect on bad memories or see if my future judgement is wrong."

A black sphere appears on the slab as Pearl lifts an eyebrow, "Jack, why are we in here when you could just tell us in the temple?"

"Because we are starting at the very beginning," Jack replies, "Including your original Diamond."

Pearl gasps as Peridot chuckles, "I always wondered which Diamond you belonged from to before coming to this planet."

Steven's gem glows as Rose appears as a hologram, "Jack, please don't. Steven can't know the truth."

Jack's gems glows as Jet appears as a hologram then places his hand on her shoulder, "Sister, the boy's fourteen already. I think he deserves to go through our history."

Delilah stares at Steven, "Steven's fourteen?!"

Jack sighs, "You asked me why I look like this a couple years ago when I should've changed, and I never gave you an answer about it. I'm guessing that since Gems don't physically age due to their bodies being made of light, it might have altered me and Steven's growth rate or even kept us in the form we're currently in."

"Mr. Universe told me that was probably the reason, too," Connie replies.

"No wonder Jack looks like he's nine," Pukamon points out.

Jack shrugs, "I thought Steven was eight when I first saw him. Now, I'm using this black Chrono Orb to take us to a specific time of my choosing, and here we are." Jack lifts the sphere and spreads it out as the Sky Arena appears and all the Gems and humans were in a white bubble that was big enough for everyone to have some space.

In the memory…

A crowd of people surrounds one person as it knocks away the crowd. The person thrusts its hand through a face in the crowd and rips out a round object.

Out of the memory…

"Eww, that dude ripped the other dude's eye out!" Amethyst became disgusted.

Jack sighs as he zooms in, "It's not an eye." The "eye" wasn't an eye at all because what it was…is a gem. A yellow circle gem as a white hand crushes the gem into dust.

In the memory…

"You fools! No one can defeat me, even without my power!" the voice bellows in a familiar but evil voice. A force pushes the crowd back as they all poof into their gems as a white gem in a black jumpsuit with white lines on its arms, a white diamond on its chest, a gray border around the diamond, black hair, a white band with a diamond shape at the waist, a white band at the end of the legs, black shoes with white bottoms and gray heels and a black light glows through the suit on the chest. The Gem shows its face as it was…or rather, he was…

Out of the memory…

"Jet?!" Steven gasps in disbelief.

"In the past, he was known as Jet Lignite," Jack replies, "The most ruthless Gem warrior of all of Homeworld."

"I was under the orders of White Diamond, and this was before I have received my two other gems and my scar," Jet explains, "Now, let us just observe the past, my son."

Jack raises his right hand up as the bubble shrinks and wraps around the bodies that were inside the bubble, "I have activated a type of cloaking suits that allows us to observe all past events without interfering with the time line. I know I said it wouldn't matter, but my dad always say 'Take nothing to chance'." Everyone watches as Homeworld Jet rips out six more Gems then crushes them all with one squeeze before everyone else backs away.

In the memory…

"You cowards!! Is there no one who can take on White Diamond's strongest?!" Jet taunts before an orange blur went past him and rips his jumpsuit from claw marks.

"Tiger Quartz can beat foolish Gem," a bald, orange Gem with a ripped, brown jumpsuit, a yellow diamond in its chest, a square gem on the right hand and black claws with orange handles that had a diamond on the center on his left hand taunts.

Out of the memory…

"That's Tigron, or Tiger's Eye Quartz, as a solider of Yellow Diamond," Jack explains, "And in a couple of seconds, we'll see Dragona join in, or as Homeworld would call her…"

In the memory…

A black, purple and white shield with a blue diamond in the center knocks Tigron's claws off as it returns to a blue Gem's right hand, "Sorry to interrupt, but I was hoping that I, Dragon's Breath Opal, can join your silly debate to represent my leader, Blue Diamond." Dragona had a jumpsuit that was half black on the top with two white stars on her sleeves and half blue on the bottom that was split by a purple zig-zag line, a blue dress with a black cover and a white trim, purple boots, a blue diamond on her chest, black hair without the stripes and a red scale-shaped gem on her left hand.

Jet grins evilly and summons his armor but had a black diamond-shape emblem, "Gems that aren't afraid to die. Impressive." Dragona jumps up and holds her shield with both her hands then swings it to hit Jet's head. He grabs the shield and reaches for her gem with his right hand before she wraps her legs around his arm and twists it.

"White Diamond servant weak against Blue Diamond scholar," Tigron pounces and holds out his claws to his other arm. Just as he made contact, Jet spins Tigron's arm then punches hard then charges before he holds up Dragona up as she and Tigron butted heads. She lets go of Jet then falls the ground.

"Let me teach you something, Tiger Quartz," Jet stomps his foot as the ground launches Tigron to Jet's palm then slams him to the ground, "Never underestimate your opponents, especially if they're stronger than you." Jet throws Tigron on Dragona as they looked worried.

Dragona looks at Jet, "What are you going to do with us?"

"As a follower of my Diamond, I would crush you into dust," Jet slowly lowers his armor, "But as myself, I spare the Gems I have respect for."

"Respect? Why Jet respect Tiger Quartz and Dragon Opal?" Tigron asks.

Jet pulls both Gems up, "Because I see potential for the both of you. Whatever you two are doing now, I know you two are capable of much more than that."

"We…appreciate you thinking so," Dragona replies as a familiar Pearl in a light blue dress and a white diamond on her chest approaches.

Out of the memory…

Everyone sees the Pearl's gem is on her forehead.

"Pearl, is that you?" Connie asks.

Pearl hides her face in shame, "Yes, it is me. I was once a guard to White Diamond, which was the worst mistake I've ever made."

In the memory…

Jet sighs as he looks at Pearl, "This better be important, Pearl."

She bows, "Our Diamond requires your presence."

"When?" Jet asks.

"Immediately," Pearl replies.

Jets sighs as Dragona curtsies, "I must be off as well. Good day, fellow Gems." Tigron bows then charges off as Jet transports himself and Pearl somewhere. Jack spins his finger around the Chrono Orb as Homeworld Jet stands in the hallway of a Gem Homeworld palace. He and Pearl walk ahead as they see a red Gem with a ragged dark red dress on the floor cleaning before a Ruby guard with the gem on the back of its neck kicks the bucket and water spills.

"What are you waiting for? Pick it up!" the Ruby guard slams the red Gem  to the ground as she gets up and the guard stomps on her back, "You know what? Just stay down like the bug White Diamond knows you are!"

Jet snaps and the guard came face to face with him as he squeezes her neck, "Who authorized you to treat her like that?"

"I was just having some fun with…" the guard tries to explain before Jet squeezes harder as the gem starts to crack.

"Who…authorized…you?" Jet repeats.

"N…n…no one! I'm sorry!" the Ruby begs for mercy. Jet throws the Ruby as she struggles up and runs in fear. He waves his hand and the spilled water goes back in the bucket.

"Are you okay, Red Diamond?" Jet asks as he helps the red Gem up.

"Fortunately, I've faced stronger opponents as leader of the Diamonds and in a stronger form," Red Diamond gets up and shows her gem was cracked, "I never understood something. Despite what I've done to Homeworld, you and the Gem Rose Quartz show me mercy. Why?"

Jet places his hand on her shoulders, "Because we think the weakest body should have the strongest soul. I want you to remember this, Diamond. Even in the darkest night, hope always shines to the purest soul."

Red Diamond sighs, "I appreciate that. If I could just return into battle to prove you right."

Out of memory…

"Even though I was on the side of cowardice Gems, I still tried to keep my sense of honor," Jet sees his younger self, "And my power gave me a kind of wisdom that I hoped would help others.

In memory…

"Jet, our Diamond awaits our presence," Pearl says as Jet pats Red Diamond's shoulder.

Jet walks ahead a few feet and heard some crying behind him, "Pearl, go ahead to the door. I'll be there soon." Pearl nods as she walks forward and Jet stays out of Red Diamond's sight against a wall.

Red Diamond looks at the floor and her reflection.
Yes, I'm a Diamond,
But I still feel so rough.

She examines her cracked gem and moves her fingers as she feels the cracks.
Being strong as the stone
Doesn't mean it's enough.

She uses the liquid and draws her and a few other Gems.
There's something jagged in me,
And I've made such mistakes.

A tear starts to form as it comes down her face.
If diamonds are really hard,
Then why did I break?

Red Diamond looks up in the sky and sees all the stars.
Who can believe
That I've always wished I could be somebody else?
But I can't see
What I should do to be the Gem I want to be.

She looks at the scrub brush and sighs.
Being told my whole life
What to do, what to say

She remembers her capture and Yellow Diamond cracking her gem.
I just thought that
There could be some better way,

Red Diamond lifts up the bucket with difficulty.
And now I think I am lost.
I don't know what to do.

She drops the bucket as she looks down.
The ground is sinking away,
And I just fallen through.

She drops to her knees and starts to cry.
Who can believe
That I've always wished I could be somebody else?
But I can't see
What I should do to be the Gem I want to be…

Red Diamond scrubs once as she sighs.
To be the Gem I want to be…

Jet sighs as he heads where Pearl was waiting for him. They enter and stood before three hooded giants in the colors of blue, yellow and white in a green throne room. A blue Pearl in a blue jumpsuit with her hair covering her eyes stands near a blue hooded Gem with a blue diamond-shaped gem on her chest, a yellow Pearl in a yellow jumpsuit with her hair standing up in the back stands near a yellow hooded Gem with a yellow gem with the same shape on her chest, and Pearl walks near a white hooded Gem with a white gem with the same shape on her forehead.

Jet crosses his arms and forms a diamond around the diamond on his chest, "Jet Lignite, Facet-1B4H Cut-1QZ, ready to serve my White Diamond."

"A pleasure to have my loyal champion in my presence, Lignite," the white hooded figure replies, "The Diamond Authority and I have been discussing something we felt you are capable of handling."

"Whatever my mission, I am ready," Jet stands at attention.

"As you know, the one we call Pink Diamond is overseeing the operations of the Facet 5 Colony on the planet known as Earth," the yellow hooded figure says.

The blue hooded figure adds, "However, we are experiencing less and less of our usual Gem production output."

Jet nods, "And you want me to check on Pink Diamond to be sure she's carrying out the plans?"

"Exactly," White Diamond says, "You leave to take on the task in five minutes."

"I'm afraid not, my Diamond," Jet declines, "I leave immediately."

"I have trained you well, Lignite, but we have decided you might need assistance," White Diamond replies as Tigron stood near Yellow Diamond and Dragona stood near Blue Diamond.

"My smartest aristocrat, Dragon's Breath Opal, will assist you on your mission," the blue hooded figure waves his hand over Dragona as she curtsies.

Dragona stands near Jet, "I will accept this task for you, my Blue Diamond."

"And Tiger's Eye Quartz, my most ferocious warrior," Yellow Diamond waves off as Tigron nods once.

"Tiger Quartz will fight for glory of Yellow Diamond," Tigron joins the two Gems.

"My Diamond, I am not a Gem that wouldn't disrespect the wisdom of the Great Diamond Authority," Jet replies, "But I feel as if you are questioning my capabilities to complete the task."

"That's because we are, Lignite," White Diamond replies.

"You and Pink Diamond were made in the same Facet 1 Colony by the same Injector, and we have noticed you have a mutual relationship with her," Blue Diamond adds, "Therefore, we must be sure you stay focused and not give in to whatever she tries to convince you. Will that be a problem?"

"Of course not, Blue Diamond," Jet huffs, "But I have one request for this mission to be completed."

Yellow Diamond chuckles, "You are in no position to request anything."

"You do not order my subject, Yellow Diamond. What exactly is your request, Lignite?" White Diamond asks.

"I suggest that two more Gems from your rule to come with me as well, my Diamond," Jet answers, "Two powerful warriors from two different Diamonds would find the opportunity to overpower the other so they can reach and fight the third Diamond. Having two additional guards gives a sense of security."

"A bit of an odd request, but we will accept that request for you make a valid point," White Diamond acknowledges, "However, that will be given to all of the Gems. Now, what Gems do you plan to take?"

"The Diamonds' Pearls and a Gem of our choice," Jet replies.

"That seems reasonable enough, Lignite," Blue Diamond says as the others agreed, "After all, if anything happens to our Pearls, we could always make new ones."

Yellow Diamond scoffs, "I don't think we should even be wasting time accepting this foolish demand, but your choice of a guard better be worth the trouble."

Jet snaps and a black flash appears behind the throne room door as Dragona makes a diamond with her arms around the diamond on her chest, "My Diamond, I choose Lapis Lazuli, Facet-3Y9F Cut-4JD as my other guard."

"Very well, Dragon Opal," Blue Diamond waves her hand at the door as a Lapis was wearing the same dress as the real Lapis before she was captured in the mirror but with her gem on her chest.

Out of the memory…

"Lapis!!" Steven gasps as he tries to hug her but he went through her body.

In the memory…

"I will protect her with my life, my Diamond," Lapis crosses her arms into a diamond.

"Tiger Quartz not need weak Gem," Tigron makes a diamond with his arms, "But since Yellow Diamond demands so, Tiger Quartz take Jasper, Facet-9H2J Cut-9IR."

"It will be an honor to protect my superior," Jasper enters with her arms crossed.

Red Diamond peeks behind the door as White Diamond laughs, "The former leader of the foolish Diamond resistance. Aren't you suppose to be 'training' to retain your strength, you insignificant Gem?"

"My Diamond, this 'insignificant Gem' is my choice of a guard," Jet points out.

"What?" White Diamond was shocked, "You would take a weak and incompetent Gem like her rather than any of the stronger guards, Lignite?!"

"If I recall correctly, she was difficult even for the Great Diamond Authority to contain. She might be weak now, but she still has the knowledge of a Gem warrior," Jet argues, "She'll be of great use to us."

Yellow Diamond chuckles, "Go and pick another guard to tag along with Jet. If Red Diamond as weak as you claim she is, then he'll need an additional guard to pick up her slack."

"Then perhaps I'll join this simple guard assignment," a voice says behind Jet as everyone turns and sees a brown Gem in a gray jumpsuit and a white diamond on its chest.

Out of memory…

"Fossilio," Jack mumbles under his breath as he recognizes the traitor of the B.O.L.T.

In memory…

White Diamond felt some suspicion, "Why the interest, Fossil Coral?"

Fossilio shrugs, "I'm curious what this colony looks like before we drain it to a new colony."

"Very well, but do not get in the way," White Diamond commands as Fossilo makes a diamond with his arms, "All of you leave to the next Gem ship to the new colony. Lignite, a word with you before we dismiss you." Jet nods as the other Gems head out the throne room.

Red Diamond whispers to Jet, "I appreciate you doing this, Jet."

The door closes after she leaves the room and Jet crosses his arms, "My Diamond, I apologize for my rude demands and humiliating your commands."

"You should be lucky that your request is a strategical action, Lignite," White Diamond replies, "That being said, the travel to the colony is a cover for you to complete your real task."

"You are to check with the head engineer of the Cluster," Yellow Diamond adds, "He goes by the name of Emerald and he's Facet-1E4K Cut-3GP."

"Then report back to us using our direct line," Blue Diamond holds up a diamond communicator as Jet uses powers to take it to his hand.

"So, complete the Cluster report as my main priority and complete the colony build as a minority, my Diamond?" Jet asks.

"Exactly my words, Lignite," White Diamond replies, "We are entrusting you with this delicate mission. If it's not complete, we've lost our last line of defense to destroy any savages that goes against our rule."

"Understood. I will not fail my task, my Diamond," Jet crosses his arms then walks out, For now, White Diamond. You may have command over me, but you have not earned my loyalty. When I find something to be loyal to, you better hope I will be merciful to you.

Out of the memory…

The door closes and the throne room disappears as everyone is back in the sanctuary.

"I never stopped thanking your father for giving me a chance, young Jacob," Red Diamond places a hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Jack, how do you have Jet's memories?" Pearl asks.

"Well, because my brain was part of my dad's, they were locked away in my subconscious," Jack replies, "The Chrono Orb can play the memories of anyone who touches it by letting its power into your brain."

Jade was in a bit of a shock, "That's amazing, but I still can't believe that someone so nice like Jet used to be so brutal."

"Everyone has something they want to change, Jade," Jack sighs as his shades turns white with a small amount of black, "These are my Shades of Harmony, this reflects good memories and sees if my future judgement is good and kind. Everyone ready?" Everyone nods as Jack turns the Chrono Orb.
